What is a zine? A zine is a compilation of derivative works, formatted in the style of a book or magazine.

Will the zine be physical or digital? We plan on making a physical zine along with having digital copies.

What is the rating for the zine? SFW, PG-13, open to canon-typical violence and blood.

What will be featured in this project? We wish to be as canon-compliant as possible, and therefore, we will not be including AU’s. In addition, depicted relationships are restricted to platonic and familial only. We will also feature the manga and the games if possible.

Will follower count affect one’s application? No, applicants will not be judged based on their follower count. They will namely be judged and accepted on the demonstration of their skills and ability to follow guidelines and rules.

Will there be guests contributors? Yes! We have invited several artists who are already onboard the project so we will not be taking any guest recommendations. That being said, if you like to see a particular artist on the project, then make sure they hear about ZERO to Z-ONE! We'd love to see them apply!

Is this zine for profit or for charity? This project is for-charity with the choice of charity determined in the near future.

Who are you looking for? We are looking for around an undisclosed number of writers and artists. We will also have guests.

What characters are allowed? Any character who has made an appearance in the anime and/or manga. If you wish to include side characters who’ve appeared in Duel Links and the World Duel Carnival games you may, but they can’t be the focus of the piece.

Are monster cards allowed? Monster cards that are featured in the series are allowed.

Is cosplay allowed? Yes! You will be counted as an artist so please apply with the artist app.

Can I use existing works for the zine? No. New pieces must be created for the zine.

Can I include OCs for the zine? We are restricted to canonical characters only.

How many characters can I include? You will be assigned a character of focus, but you are free to include as many of the other characters you like.

Can I include characters from other series? Yes, only if the characters have met in canon, i.e. Bonds Beyond Time.

How will contributors be compensated? All contributors are guaranteed to receive a digital PDF of the zine. Any further compensation will depend on sales.

What is the main mode of contact? All applicants will receive an email to inform them of the outcome of their application. All accepted contributors will be required to join the Discord server for announcements.

Page artists will be expected to create and complete a full-color illustration that is either a one page (portrait) or a two page spread (landscape). Spot illustrators are dedicated to creating small art piece(s) for their assigned writer(s). They will also be assigned to create a page border for their writer(s). Specs and templates will be provided upon acceptance.

Writers will be expected to create and complete a one-shot fic piece between 1.5-2.5k words.

Traditional art is welcomed as long as you can scan in 300 dpi resolution or higher.

Contributors are expected to follow conduction rules and expectations in and out of the project, and to demonstrate professionalism within the project. There is no tolerance for — but not limited to — hateful and violent speech and iconography, harassment, and theft. AI-generation of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any found use of AI from any contributor and applicant will result in being removed from the project at any time.

Contributors must be at 18+ during the entire duration of the project. Anyone found to be underaged will result in being removed from the project at any time.

All samples must not be rated higher than Mature as this project is strictly SFW.
